Roosters Steak & Chop House

Best For: A Fine Dining Ambience.

A local downtown favorite known for its classic steakhouse fare and upscale, yet welcoming atmosphere. Best for steak lovers and those craving hearty, well-prepared dishes. The restaurant is particularly popular for its steak and chops selections. I highly recommend the Steak Diane or any of the other steak cut offerings. Aside from its steaks, Roosters also serves plenty of other entrees. The Chicken Parmesan Bolognese and Blackened Halibut are stand outs on the menu.

Roosters also boasts an excellent wine list, featuring local Oregon wines, as well as a selection of craft beers and cocktails, making it a top spot for both casual dining and special occasions.

It is worth knowing that Roosters only serves dinner and is open Tuesday – Saturday from 4 to 9 pm. Expect a packed house on weekends, especially before showings at the Ross Ragland Theater.

For breakfast cafe is particularly famous for its stuffed french toast, a variety of omelettes, and house-made cinnamon rolls, all of which are perfect for a morning meal. A note on the cinnamon rolls – they are delicious but huge. Great for sharing.

For lunch, their salads or hot sandwiches are top choices, often paired with a side of crispy fries or fresh salad.  I often get the soup, salad, and homemade bread combo because it is delicious and affordable. Also, be sure to check the board in the waiting room for the daily specials.

Nibbley’s is also known for its warm service and welcoming environment, making it a popular destination for locals looking for a relaxed meal. Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty breakfast or a satisfying lunch, Nibbley’s Cafe offers flavorful, made-from-scratch dishes are worth a try.

Brawny Burger

Best For: Old-school diner atmosphere that serves great burgers and shakes.
Address: 2175 S 6th St, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

Brawny Burger is another Klamath Falls staple. In fact, it was one of the first places I was told I needed to try when I moved to Klamath Falls. Expect a casual old-school diner setting that serves burgers, shakes, fries, and other fast food options. Most burgers and sandwiches are sold a la carte, and you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose.

The food they serve isn’t mind blowing, but it is consistent. If you are wanting a simple juicy burger, fries and a shake Brawny Burger is your place. It is another locally owned Klamath Falls restaurant that is very involved in the community. Check for weekly specials.

Thai Orchid

Best For: Thai food lovers and spice enthusiasts.
Address: 2300 Washburn Way #D, Klamath Falls, OR 97603

When it comes to Thai cuisine in Klamath Falls, Thai Orchid is one of the best places to eat. We do have a few different Thai restaurants to choose from in Klamath Falls, and Thai Orchid is consistently mentioned as a local favorite.

If you’re a fan of bold, flavorful Thai food, you’re in for a treat. This family-owned restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring classic Thai dishes like Pad Thai, green curry, and Thai fried rice. Each dish is made with fresh ingredients, and the chefs are happy to adjust the spice levels to suit your preferences.

Basin Martini Bar

Best For: Extensive cocktail list and elevated, yet casual bites.

Whether you are looking for a full-on meal, or small bites with your drinks, Basin Martini Bar is right up your alley. They have an extensive cocktail and liquor menu that is a treat in Klamath Falls. If you are looking for a refined, night out on the town, Basin Martini bar is where you go.

The house-made sweet potato gnocchi is divine as is their veal truffled meatloaf. For smaller appetites, try the arancini or the fish tacos. We would consider Basin Martini bar the best place in Klamath Falls for food and drinks.

Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant

Best For: Flavorful Mexican food and margaritas.
Address: 1936 S 6th St, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant is a beloved local spot for delicious Mexican cuisine. Whether you’re in the mood for tacos, enchiladas, or sizzling fajitas, Mazatlan has you covered. The menu is large, including a variety of seafood and signature dishes.

In addition to the food, Mazatlan is known for its excellent margaritas and vibrant atmosphere. It’s a popular spot for both casual dinners and celebrations, and if you’re a fan of margaritas, this place has some of the best in town. Any of their combination specials and their Pollo Fundido are worth a try.

El Tio Chuy

Best For: Inspired Mexican Fare.
Address: 6200 S 6th St, Klamath Falls, OR 97603

This is perhaps the newest sit down Mexican restaurant to open up in Klamath Falls, and our families favorite. The prices are a littler higher than other Mexican restaurants in the area but the dishes are far more inspired and the flavors are on point.

It is hard to choose a favorite dish here because everything we have tried has been absolutely fantastic. If you like enchiladas you must try theirs. There is something different about the sauce; its delicious. Any of the birria offerings are excellent and the El Tio Chuy dish is really good if you are looking for something a little different than the usual. They also serve all-day Mexican breakfast entrees.

Rodeo’s Pizza

Best For: Scratch  pies with high-quality ingredients. Great salads.
Address: 1215 Main St, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

Rodeo’s Pizza is my to-go pizza spot in Klamath Falls. If someone asks for a recommendation for a restaurant in Klamath Falls, Rodeo’s is always mentioned. They not only have amazing pizzas but also really great salads.

They use top-quality ingredients and made from scratch dough and sauce. You can taste the difference. My absolute favorite pizza at Rodeo’s is the Hawaiian. The homemade sauce combined with the fresh pineapple, in my opinion, is to die for. Other standouts are the No-No pizza that features nitrate free pepperoni and the funky Brussel Pie pizza. You imagined that correctly, a pizza with brussel sprouts. Despite how it might sound, it is a delicious stand-out.

Don’t overlook their salads. They are fresh and delicious. Are you a Caesar Salad fan, then you have to try their different versions. If you like a little spice, try the Sriracha Caesar. The Jefferson Spring or the Super Ranch are my usual selections  .

Place to eat in Klamath Falls, Klamath Falls Oregon Restaurants, where to dine Klamath Falls,

Starv’n Marv’n Family Restaurant

Best For: Family dining atmosphere with generous portions.
Address: 1822 Austin St, Klamath Falls, OR 97603

Starv’n Marv’n’s is a longtime, family-owned Klamath Falls restaurant staple. If you ask any local the best breakfast spot in Klamath Falls, no doubt Starv’n Marv’n’s will come up. They are very involved in the community and support many local causes. Starv’n Marv’n’s has limited hours, serving breakfast and lunch from 8-2pm daily. They serve both their breakfast and lunch menu all day long so it is a great spot if people in your party want both. At one point they were dabbling in having a dinner service, but I am not sure if that is still on going. I would check with the restaurant directly.

The portions are generous! Believe me. Unless you are extremely hungry one entree can often feed two people. The Klamath Farmer or the Ditch Rider are popular breakfast entrees and the biscuits and gravy is yummy! Make sure to check on their daily specials which include Indian Fry Bread Tacos and Monte Cristo sandwiches!

A Leap of Taste

Best For: Thoughtfully curated sandwiches and salads from locally sourced ingredients.
Address: 907 Main St, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

Located in the downtown in the Oregon Bank Building, this is a vibrant coffee shop cafe that focuses on sustainability and sourcing local ingredients. They have great quick breakfast bites, hot drinks, as well as amazing sandwiches. The Dennis is my particular favorite sandwich and I always make sure to ask what their weekly special is.

Whether you are grabbing a drink and bite to go, or prefer to dine-in A Leap of Taste accommodates both. The atmosphere is cozy and casual with that eclectic local coffee house charm.

Place to eat in Klamath Falls, Klamath Falls Oregon Restaurants, where to dine Klamath Falls,

Terra Veg Vegan Eatery

Best For: Lebanese inspired vegan comfort food.
Address: 249 E Main St, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

As the only vegan or vegetarian restaurant in Klamath Falls, I would say we are lucky to have Terra Veg in our community. We consider this women run eatery as one of the best places to eat in Klamath Falls. It is amazing even if you are not vegan or vegetarian. There isn’t a bad dish on the menu, we recommend them all. The Namaste Bowl, house made soups, and any mezze plate is a great option for first timers.

Considering giving Terra Veg a try, even if you are not vegan. I myself am not, but I am never disappointed in what I ordered or feel it would have been better if it included meat. That says a lot because I definitely am a carnivore. The flavors stand out and you the dishes are always fresh.

Chicken Shack & The Coop Lounge

Best For: Chicken options and fried seafood platters.
Address: 3255 Washburn Way #3, Klamath Falls, OR 97603

Even though this is technically a chain restaurant, it is probably one of the most popular places to eat in Klamath Falls. The Chicken Shack is a favorite local spot. Their chicken strips and wings are good, and they have so many different sauces and rubs to compliment the chicken. It is one of the only places in Klamath Falls where you can consistently get a typical fried seafood basket. Their Buffalo Chicken Fries entree is another frequently ordered selection.

If you are looking for some good wings or fingers, a seafood basket, or really great homemade chili, consider the Chicken Shack.

The newly opened Coup Lounge is located right next door to the Chicken Shack. I haven’t confirmed if it is the same owners but they do cross-utilize the Chicken Shack kitchen. They offer many items off the Chicken Shack menu, and a few unique ones as well. So, considering the name and the food, I think it is safe to say they are related in some way. Klamath Falls definitely lacks more upscale cocktail bars, so the Coop Lounge fills that void a bit. Patrons have described it as “swanky yet comfortable”.

Tap Houses and Brew Pubs in Klamath Falls

Common Block Brewing

Address: 1320 Main St, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

New to Klamath Falls, Common Block Brewing now occupies the spot where the old creamery once stood. This is a sister brewpub to the one in Medford. They are open from 11am to 9pm daily. The brewery has a very spacious indoor seating area, as well as an equally spacious outdoor seating and activity area. It is pretty family friendly, and has a decent kids menu.

There are several different Common Block Brewing beer options, as well as some other mainstream offerings. The food is average but combined with ambience and beer selection it is a solid choice.

Garage Tap House

Address: 603 S 6th St, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

The Garage Tap House is a newer addition to the downtown Klamath Falls area. Your are spoiled for choice on beer and cider selections as well as several food carts on-site.

The space has a very industrial, open “garage” like feeling. There is a spacious seating area inside as well as a covered seating area outdoors where the food trucks are located. There is often live music and is a great place to gather in Klamath Falls.

The Falls Tap House

Address: 2215 Shallock Ave, Klamath Falls, OR 97601

The Falls Tap House is a funky tap house located close to the OIT campus, therefore it attracts more college students then some of the other places mentioned. It is unique in that there is a roof top seating area, as well as a large, dog-friendly patio seating area.

They host live music and corn hole tournaments during the summer. Because of its location, it is an easy stop if you are headed out of town on Highway 97 towards Crater Lake or Bend.

Mia & Pia’s Pizzeria and Brewhouse

Address: 3545 Summers Ln, Klamath Falls, OR 97603

Like other places on this list, Mia & Pia’s is a true Klamath Falls institution. They serve house brewed beers along with pizza, pasta, and a other pub style food. Even though it does have a brewery element to it, when I think of Mia & Pia’s I think of it more as a restaurant or pizzeria. It is very family friendly, with areas to host birthday parties or other get togethers.

They often have weekly specials, a Mug Club, and live music, and different events throughout the year. They have a large selection of different pizzas, and delicious broasted chicken (that often sells out for the day).

Highly Recommended Food Trucks in Klamath Falls

For being a small city, there are a number of food trucks scattered throughout the city offering various different food options. If I had to guess, I would say most of them are tacos trucks offering some form of Mexican food but there are other options as well. Here are some of the most notable.

El Senor Taco

We really like El Senor Taco. Mostly ordering it on Door Dash, the food is always hot and consistently tasty. It is your typical Mexican food menu, and their portions are generous. We particularly enjoy their nachos, tamales, and Steven loves their birria tacos or quesadillas.

Fuong’s Kitchen

Fuong’s calls themselves a “casual noodle shop featuring Asian comfort food’ and I would agree with that description. They serve lunch and dinner of different noodle dishes, Bahn Mi sandwiches, and various Asian cuisine entrees. The portions are generous and one entree can be shared.

Fuong’s also offers several vegetarian options or variations to their dishes which seem to be quite popular. Their food is always hot and the service is wonderful. One thing I will add is about their Egg Flower Soup. I am not sure exactly how they make it that is different from the usual, but it is very sweet. It does not taste like you are use to and I wasn’t the biggest fan of it. Having said that I am sure there are people that enjoy it sweet. Try their Chinese BBQ Pork Fried Rice and the Caramelized Jalepeno Chicken with Broccoli! Those are my two favorite dishes.

SomTum Thai

Located in the same lot as Fuong’s, SomTum Thai offers up Thai dishes! Their Pad Thai Chicken and Garlic Prawn dishes are my favorite in Klamath Falls.

One thing to know is that you can customize your level of spice from 1-5. Please note, even level one is pretty darn spicy. I would consider myself a person who likes a good kick of spice and I usually order a 1. I cannot even imagine how spicy a level 5 would be! If you are not in to spice make sure you tell them no spice!
